At Afrik Transport Maritime (ATM), Safety (Sécurité) is the bedrock of our operational mindset. Operating in dynamic, high-risk port environments like the Port of Pointe-Noire requires unyielding vigilance, proactive risk management, and strict compliance with international maritime security standards.
Our commitment to Safety is built on four core operational pillars:
-
Strict Risk Assessment & Incident Prevention: Before executing any task—whether handling heavy cargo, executing crew transfers, or delivering ship stores—our teams perform thorough Job Safety Analyses (JSA). We identify potential hazards early to enforce strict control measures, driving toward our ultimate goal of Zero Incidents and Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI).
-
Compliance with Maritime Security Codes (ISPS Code): We operate in total alignment with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and local port authority regulations. From secure access control during vessel visits to vetted personnel clearance, we safeguard shipowners' assets and cargo against security threats.
-
Mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Specialized Gear: All ATM personnel and contractors are strictly required to wear certified PPE—including safety helmets, high-visibility vests, protective eyewear, anti-slip steel-toe footwear, and life vests during offshore/berth operations. Equipment is routinely inspected and refreshed to guarantee maximum protection.
-
Continuous Safety Training & Emergency Preparedness: We conduct regular safety toolboxes, emergency response drills (covering fire safety, man-overboard scenarios, and chemical spills), and continuous safety workshops. Every member of our team holds the authority and duty to exercise Stop Work Authority if an unsafe condition or action is identified.
